Fly Quiet Program
The Roundtable, with the assistance of the Airport’s Noise Abatement Office, praises and promotes active airline participation in aircraft noise mitigation, rather than admonishing violations for essentially voluntary procedures. The program’s goal is to encourage the airlines to be good neighbors by operating their aircraft as quietly as possible at SFO.
The annual awards presented by the Roundtable are based on a review and ranking of the overall scores of each airline operating at SFO in the following categories: 1) fleet noise quality rating, 2) noise exceedance quality rating, 3) night time preferential runway use rating, 4) shoreline departure quality rating, 5) gap departure quality rating, and 6) Foster City arrival quality rating.
