    a. Presentation on SEA Ground Noise Study & applicability to SFO (30 min)     

  2. Discussion on Use of Portable Noise Monitors in Ground-Based Noise Data Gathering (20 min)

    a. Determine needs for portable noise monitors to:
    i. Gather noise data behind airplanes taking off and other airport ground noise
    ii. Gather noise data of low frequency noise traveling uphill
    iii. Gather noise data to be prepared if FAA changes standards for type of metrics used or minimum required to meet evolving standards (related to results of Neighborhood Environmental Study)
    b. Formulate request to Portable Noise Monitoring Placement Subcommittee for required portable noise monitors

     

  3. Low Frequency Noise Issues as part of the FAA Reauthorization (20 min)
     
    Ann Schneider, Subcommittee Chairperson
    a. Create Congressional and FAA awareness of ground-based noise and impacts
    b. Urge the FAA to modify their metrics to fully address low frequency noise
    c. Encourage the FAA to engage with engine manufacturers to design and build engines that address ways to lower or eliminate low frequency noise
    d. Encourage the FAA to work with their academic partners to study and innovate ways to lessen the amount of low frequency noise that is generated by engines and received by residents
    e. Encourage the FAA to work with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to modify noise certification standards to add an additional noise certification reference point behind the airplane on takeoff and to fully measure low frequency noise in this measurement

Written public comments may be emailed in advance of the meeting. Please read the following instructions carefully:

  2. Your email should include the specific agenda item on which you are

  3. Members of the public are limited to one comment per agenda

  4. The length of the emailed comment should be commensurate with two minutes customarily allowed for verbal comments, which is approximately 250-300

  5. If your emailed comment is received by 3:00 pm on the day before the meeting, it will be provided to the Roundtable and made publicly available on the agenda website under the specific item to which comment The Roundtable will make every effort to read emails received after that time but cannot guarantee such emails will be read during the meeting, although such emails will still be included in the administrative record.
